"Current & Emerging Technological Advancements in Construction"

September 29-30, 2022

The Capital on the Park

101 Katherine St, Sandown, Sandton, Gauteng

Learn about the event

The fourth industrial revolution has generated great need for technological advancement in every known industry and the construction industry has not been an exception, robotics, artificial intelligence and the IoT could potentially reduce building costs by at least 30%. Construction technology is able to effectively assist construction companies prevent cost overruns, address labor shortages and subsequently better and more efficiently complete building projects.

This conference is set to highlight the current and emerging technology in the construction industry, construction 4.0 innovations like construction wearables such as helmets and smart watches, 3D printing of buildings, BIM, VR & augmented reality, surveying plus monitoring drones and AI, Technology is set to alter business models in the industry, reduce expensive human error, site injuries and monitor, survey & evaluate construction site activity using less human capital. The construction industry has creative and new technology that will not only revolutionize construction but also motivate & increase productivity to greater heights.

There has been so much phobia attached to the advancement of technology with so much fear of job losses but AI is unlikely to replace human capital but instead most likely to create new skill requirements currently referred to as jobs of the future.

Highlight new and emerging technologies in the construction industry including but not limited to machine control solution, cloud connectivity, safety awareness, digital construction, BIM, VR, 3D printing and many other tech innovations in construction.

  • Discuss the impact of technology and building standards.
